WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

SPECIAL MEETING HELD. A special Institute meeting was held in the Turua Buildings this week to arrange transport for the coming birthdays of the various Institutes of the Plains. The meeting was opened with the Institute, ode, with Mrs. Petnecost accompanying at the piano. While the members were gathered together the opportunity was taken to present Mrs. Gant with a small gift ; n appreciation of the work she had done while a member of the Turua Women's Institute. Baby Hill was presented with an engraved serviette ring. Competitions were won by Mesdames Hessell and Hamilton. After a dainty afternoon tea had been served the meeting was closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
