INJURIES TO EYE.
BOY RUNS INTO FENCE. BARBED WIRE TEARS FACE. [By Telegraph. —Press Association] OPOTIKI, Sept. 23.
A pupil of the Otara School, Charlie Pulman, narrowly escaped losing the sight of one of his eves when lie ran into a barbed-wire fence.
The boy had one of his eyes bandaged as a result of eye trouble, and did not notice the fence until he collided with it. A barb on the fence caught in the lid of, his other eye, and when he quickly pulled away the lid and eyebrow were badly torn. He was admitted to the Opotiki Hospital, where several stitches were inserted.
