JOCKEY INJURED.
FRACTURE OF SKULL. L. J. ELLIS IN HOSPITAL. [By Telegraph.—Press Association]. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 23. Royal Refrain crossed' his legs just after passing the post in third place in "lie Oliapi Hack Handicap at the Geraldine meeting yesterday, and fell. His rider, L. J. Ellis, received a severe head wound through being thrown against the rails, and he was removed to hospital.
An X-ray examination last night revealed that Ellis’ skull was fractured.
