SOCIAL SECURITY PLAN. LABOUR MEMBER OBJECTS. RESIGNS FROM BOARD. [By Telegraph. —Press Association]. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 23. A Labour member of the North Canterbury Hospital Board, Dr. R. E. ITopcPearson, has resigned. lie explained that he could not conscientiously support the Social Security Act. There was nothing in the scheme, he said, to provide for the prevention of sickness and disease. The scheme was a sickness scheme, and not a health scheme.
