TOUR OF GREAT BARRIER.

MR. W. A. CLARK’S CAMPAIGN.

MUCH ENTHUSIASM DISPLAYED.

MEETINGS ADDRESSED. The first time in the history of the Great Barrier Island that a candidate for Parliamentary honours has traversed the whole of the island took place during the last few days, when Mr. W. A, Clark, the National Party candidate, covered every part of the Barrier where there were settlers, and met with a most enthusiastic reception. At several places he addressed meetings and found that the majority of tho settlers were definitely in favour of the National Party. Tryphena. Mr. Clark’s first meeting was at Tryphena, where almost everybody in the district was present. At the conclusion of his address he received a hearty vote of thanks and support for the National Party. MedlaiyJs. Proceeding to Medlands, Mr Clark addressed tho settlers, who expressed pleasure at the candidate’s visit and assured him that he would receive their support at the poll. Okupu. The aerodrome was then visited and from there Mr. Clark went to Okupu,where he met the settlers and discussed matters relating to the Avharf and {lie loading requirements of the district. He was assured of much support from the settlers. Awane District. Proceeding to Awane, where Mr. Clark was tho guest of Colonel Overton, the candidate addressed the largest meeting ever held in the district and received a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. Okiwi. The next morning Mr. Clark pro ceeded to Okiwi, where the settlers entertained him to morning tea. After explaining the policy of the National Party, Mr. Clark was thanked for visiting Okiwi, the settlers expressing their confidence in the National Party. Port Fitzroy. In the afternoon a large meeting was addressed by Mr. Clark at Port Fitzroy, and at the conclusion he received a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. Whangapara. In the evening another large meeting was held at Whangapara, when tho candidate received a most enthusiastic reception. At the conclusion he Avas accorded a vote of thanks and confidence. Port Charles. At Port Charles yesterday, Mr. Clark addressed the settlers of that district, Mr. 11. S. Curtis presiding, and the candidate received an attentive hearing. After a feAv questions had been satisfactorily ansAvered by Mr. Clark, a vote of thanks and confidence Avas carried. Last night Mr. Clark was entertained by the settlers at a social evening.
