MR. A. L. BURK WELCOMED. ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETS. Prior to proceeding Avith business at yesterday’s meeting of the Thames Borough Advisory Committee, tho Mayor, Mr. S. Ensor, extended a hearty and cordial welcome to the new Commissioner, Mr. A. L. Burk, trusting that his time in Thames would be interesting and pleasant. Mr. Burk, returning thanks, said the Commissioner Act conveyed wide powers, but he assured members he would not attempt to use those powers unduly. It Avas his desire to do all he could towards furthering tho interests of tho people of Thames. Mr. Grange, added Mr. Burk, had set a high standard, but in carrying on the work lie would do the best he could.
