PLAINS RUGBY.
ANNUAL MEETING HELD. PRESIDENT RETIRES. UNION FUNDS IN CREDIT. The annual meeting of the Ilauraki Plains Rugby Union was held at Ngatea on Friday. The president, Mr. E. A. Mahoney, was in the chair. Club delegates from Waitakaruru, Kaiaua, Ngatea, Patctonga and Kerepeehi were presilt. Turua Club was not represented.
The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The latter showed That both the general fund and insurance fund had substantial credit balances.
Election of Officers.
Officers elected were:
Patron, Mr. H. Dent; president, Mr. D. C. Land; secretary, Mr. A. R. Johnston; treasurer, Mr. E. A. Mahoney; auditor, Mr. F. E. Hammond; delegates to Thames Valley Union, Messrs. Land, Evans and Mahoney; management committee, Messrs. W. Williams, H. T. P. Evans, P. Leonard, F. Patterson, J. W. Neate and R. Benny.
The appointment of a surgeon was left in the hands of the committee to deal with.
Services Appreciated,
A vote of thanks was accorded the retiring president, Mr. E. A. Mahoney, for his sterling work. Mr. Mahoney did not seek re-election.
