DIFFICULT PROBLEM.
INCREASING PRODUCTION.
HAMPERED BY LEGISLATION,
Speaking at Winton last week, Mr. J. Hargost, M.P., said: "To-day Mr. Savage is reported as saying that unless they could keep on increasing production they could not keep on increasing the benefits to the people. One might well ask: What has this Government done to encourage the person desiring to increase production?
"Every business man and every farmer who increases production has more taxes levied and lias more restrictions imposed upon him. Under the proposed Superannuation Bill he will be faced with a certain knowledge that added work tor the purpose of increasing production will give him nothing whatever, but only security to those who do not practice thrift."
