NO PAYMENT FOR 8 YEARS. UNEMPLOYMENT LEVY. ■ * CASE IN TE AItOHA. [By Telegraph.—Press Association] TE AKUiIA, Peb. 18. A charge- of failing to pay his unemployment registration levy was preferred against Lancelot Goodyear, a horaebreaker, who appeared before Mr. F. H. Levieu, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. The amount in arrears, inclusive of penalties, was stated to be £ls/12/6.
Constable Monson said that, although Goodyear had registered in Hawerq some years ago, he had never applied for a coupon book and had never paid any instalment of the levy from its inception in 1930. Goodyear stated he had been unable to make payment of the levy. The magistrate imposed a fine of £2O and costs, inclusive of the ar rears,
