HILLSIDE SLIPS.
COAST HIGHWAY. BLOCKAGE AT KERITA. ALL VEHICLES HELD UP. Communication with Coromandel, via the usual route, was cut off on Satur day by a big slip occurring on tho Thames side of Kerita. The road wan still blocked to-day, the Coromandel service car having to stop on the other side of the slip, passengers making their way to the Thames side, whero another car was awaiting them. A gang of Coromandel County Council men were on the job yesterday and again to-day, but it is an arduous tasls to make an impression on the thou sands of yards of spoil covering the highway for nearly three chains.
The debris broke away from tho adjoining hillside and ran over the road on to the beach.
It is expected by to-morrow to havo sufficient spoil cleared away to allow a track to be available for vehicles.
