MOTOR ACCIDENT.
THAMES MAN INVOLVED
CAR STRIKES A POST,
[Special to "Star"] AUCKLAND, Aug. 9.
Two men were injured when a motorcar struck a post at the corner of Pitt Street and Wellington Street, City, early on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred as the car was turning from Pitt Street into Wellington Street. The driver, Mr. Alex. Bowden, a blacksmith, aged 39, of Thames, suffered concussion and a fractured finger. Mr. Clarence Louden Strong, aged 35, single, of 9(3 Nelson Street, City, who was standing near the post, was hit by the car and suffered concussion. The car was extensively damaged.
Both men were taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance. Neither was reported to be in a serious condition last night.
