Workers Strike.
OBJECTION TO PAY RATE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 8. Unemployed men who were to begin work on the Ashley River pi’oteotive works under the Unemployment Board’s new full-time contract scheme, went on strike on the ground that the prices quoted would not allow them to make 12/- per day. There are two camps, one of about 180 men from Rangiora, and the other of about 100 of Christchurch workers.
