Effect On ’Change.

BUYERS HESITANT. BANKS AND INSURANCE. LITTLE BUSINESS TO-DAY. (Special to “Star.”) AUCKLAND, Nov. 28. The effect of the change in the political parties was in evidence on the Stock Exchange this morning. Only a quarter of the sales was registered at the first call, and this did not include any of the banking, insurance or gilt edged class. At the call buyers were obviously hesitant. In the section for Government stocks, buying bids, based on a slight reduction upon recent quotations, yere put in, but there was no zest in the bidding and vendors did not bother to respond. The only line on offer was a parcel of 55, for which £IOB/10/- was asked. In the banking section Australians were unchanged, but Dominions were temporarily out of the picture. New Zealands were on offer at £2/11/6, and Reserves at £6/5/-, with no buyers in sight.

Breweries retained their recent firmness, New Zealands being quoted at between £2/15/- and £2/16/-, and Dominions from 17/3 to 18/-.

Australian miscellaneous securities were unchanged and Goidsbroughs had', a firm market at be - tween 31/6 and 32/6.
