FIRST AUSTRALIANS.
FINISH AIR RACE. STODARTS IN SIXTH PLACE. (A. and N.Z. Cable). MELBOURNE,'Oct. 30. Squadron-Leader D. E. Stodart and his nephew, Sergeant K. G, Stodart, arrived in Melbourne in their Airspeed Courier at 11 a.m. today from Charleville, which they had left at 5.45 a.m., local time. They thus gained sixth place in the Centenary air race, and are the first Australians to finish in the race. The Stodarts have a good prospect in the handicap event because, in spite of much ill-luck, they have not spent any waiting time away from checking points, unlike Squadron- Leader M. C. McGregor and Mr. H. C. Walker.
