Wireless In Schools.
STEADY INCREASE NOTED. SERVING USEFUL PURPOSE. The fact that educational broadcasting serves a very useful purpose in school life is shown by tjie steady increase during the year in the number of schools and children listening in to the weekly broadcasts from IYA. At the beginning of the year there were about 98 schools equipped with wireless sets, with a total of 5083 children. • At the end of the second term, when the last tally was taken, there were 143 schools and 7438 children listening in, an increase of about 46 per cent. The headmaster and teachers at the Thames South School find the Tuesday afternoon sessions very helpful, and it is noticeable that the children take a keen interest in this novel form of teaching.
