THE DREAM CAME TRUE!
GOLD REEF IN WAIKATO? Discovery At Whatawhata. HOW IT WAS LOCATED. SAMPLES SENT TO THAMES. (By Telegraph —Press Association). HAMILTON, Sept. 17. While fossicking in the bills on tho Waikato Land Settlement Society’s property at Whatawhata, *lO miles west of Hamilton, three amateur prospectors discovered a reef showing in a preliminary assay small quantities of gold and silver. This area is not generally regarded as gold-bearing, but in view of the assay results it is considered possible that a richer reef may be found in the locality. Further samples have been sent to the Thames School of Mines, and when the results are to hand investigations will be continued. The discovery was made under unusual circumstances in that the location of the reef was revealed to one of the prospectors in a dream by his late father. When found its characteristics corresponded with those of the “dream” reef.
