BASKETBALL.
PRIMARY SCHOOLS. FolloAving are the results of the matches played last week: — Senior Grade. Central A 12, beat Convent 8. This concludes the first round in the senior grade, with the South School leading. Junior Grade. South B 8, beat Convent B 6. Tararu 6, beat Convent 1. Central C 7, beat South C 4. ON THE PLAINS. A scratch basketball match, arranged between the Turua ladies and the school teams, was played on the school grounds on Saturday, the school team winning by 6 goals to 1. Goals for the winners were notched by Mina Stewart (4), and Doris Taipari (2), whilst Miss Jean Loader recorded the only one for the ladies.
