RUGBY MATTERS.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. SATURDAY'S FIXTURES. Mr D. Mackay presided over the weekly meeting of the Thames Rugby Union Management Committee, there also being present: Messrs A. Fleet, C. Fearn, M. Hoskins, G. Pollock, J. Grant, R. Henderson, J. Spraggon and E. 11. Griffin, and delegates from City, P.T.. Mercury Bay and the Primary Schools There was only one letter before the meeting, in which the Hauraki Plains .Union agreed to the conditons of the Peace Cup elmination match as suggested by the local Union, and asked for a junior rep.' game on the same date. The matter of finding a team was left to the junior selector, Mr J. B. Pratt. _ Fixtures for Saturday were set ] down as under : Senior.—College Old Boys v. City, Physical Training v. Ramblers. Junior. —College Old Boys v. Ramblers. Third-grade. —College Old Boys v. High School. Primary. —Paeroa v. Thames. Reports by Messrs Henderson and Mackay on the teams and their doings at Tauranga were given, and City were granted permission to play Coromandel on July 25. A vote of thanks to the schoolmasters for the arranging of a working-bee of boys to clear the No. 2 pitch from fescue, was passed.
