MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

TRANSFER OF LICENCES.

The quarterly meeting of the Thames Licensing Committee was held to-day, the following members being present: Messrs. F. W. Platts (chairman), J. S. James, W. H. Lucas, P. Towers, W. M. Wallnutt and J. McCormick The following permanent transfers were granted:— Salutation Hotel, Thames, from J. C. Ruston to Victor E. Sammons. Shortland Hotel, Thames, from Roy Alexander Allwood to Matthew Black. Commercial Hotel, Waihi, from Jas. E. Reid to Jno. Wm. McDonald.

The police reports in connection with the hotels of the district being favourable, were approved. In connection with the Whangamata Hotel, at present undergoing additions, the owner, Mrs. Shaw, undertook to have certain improvements required by the committee, carried into effect.
