CRICKET CONCERT.

CENTRAL HALL MONDAY.

WONDERFUL PROGRAMME.

Something really out of the ordinary is being provided for those who are fond cf a good evening’s entertainment by the Thames Cricket Sub-Association next Monday night in the Central Hall. In the search fob something different the association hit upon the idea of introducing the best known of the artists from ( IYA (Auckland) Broadcasting Station, and arranged for the party to be headed by, <f TJncle Tom.” Mr. T. T. Garland, which is “Uncle Tom’s” real name, is far too well-known to those who have a wireless set to need any introduction, and it is -to those who have not had the pleasure of listeningin that it will be an absolute revelation. His has been described (and . very justly so) as an absolute entertainpient in himself. He is versatile and witty ,and his repertoire is so extensive that therg are few artists on the stage or tlie air to-day who can approach his standai’d. ’ / The other items comprising the programme are of the same high calibre, and include ureseutations by Miss Rita. McCullay, Miss Kr~ Christie, Mr, Reg Richards and Mr. Lambert Harvey. The last of these is an exceptionally fine teiio rsinger and has not been long out from England where he has more than provincial reputation. j _ Modern and classical music and popular songs will make, up a' wellbalanced programme, whilst it is whispered that some topical verses y;ill deal expertly with some of the vagaries, of well-known Thames and district citizens. And the whole lot for two hob!
