A WOMAN’S DEATH,

At the inquest this morning concerning the death of Mrs Rita Gannon, who was killed on Friday when she was run into by a car driven by Sydney Gordon Stewart, a verdict of accidental death was returned. _
• SUICIDE BY POISONING

Bert Russell F elder (29), a motorman recently separated from his wife, was found dead in his house on Sunday afternoon. He l-*ft the following note, to his mother:—“Please forgiye me far dying this way.” He had previously told his mother he intended trying to make it up with 1 his wife. At the inquest a verdict of suicide ‘by poisoning was returned. KILLED INSTANTLY. \By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Dec. 9. A collision between a motor-cycle hncl a taxi on Sunday night resulted in the instantaneous death, of Robert Oughton, juries to Susannah McConnachie, aged . 27. Her younger sister who was also pillion riding, escaped injury. It.was raining at the time, obscuring the vision. The deceased was a single man and a partner h) a firing and carriers’ business, a well known representative Southland footballer, and a former captain of the Star Club. HEAD-ON COLLISION. BLENHEIM, Dec. 9. * Two motor-cycles ridden by young men named Herbert Shipley, of Blenheim, and Cyril Booker, of Onamalutu Vajley, collided head-on In the middle of Renwipk Road, two miles out of Blenheim, at midnight on Saturday. Both were found "in pools of blood, unconscious, by a passing motorist and sent to hospital.
(Booker is in a critical condition, suffering from a* fractured skull, his left thigh and leg being smashed. Shipley, who has a fractured skull, a broken arm and bad wounds to his head and ankle, is improving:
