THE MATATOKI QUARRY.

Sir, —There is some talk of shifting the hoppers at the main road and it is time it was done. But why not pull up the whole line arid make a firstclass road from the main Thames-Pae»-roa Road? They have the.material at hand, and by putting the road right up to the quarry they would save one handling. The road ought to be wide enough to let two lorries pass. I advocated the road from the 4 'first, and Mr. Hooley, the ex-engineer, was of the same mind.
