Lucky Shot.—During the past week work in the low level crosscut has been confined to. getting the timber in position for driving east on the main reef. The nortion of the reef broken out to get the timber in shows strong colour* and dabs of gold. The stone on the reef above the winze has now been carried along 29ft and gold has teen seen freely in the ore broken for the whole of that distance, and several pieces of picked stone have been selected during the week. Albumin Mining.—The drive north on the main Orlando lode from the crosscut at the winze ha* been extended 4ft.. a. total of 173 ft. The veeT hern still averages 3ft. wide and is a ccmnaet body of heavily mineralised ore carrying Mend, antimony and silica. Strong dabs of gold are seen at everv breaking down and a few i omuls of picked ("tone were selected. The country rock on both walls has every indication for making gold. The east crosscut at the Whan level has 1-een cleaned out. retimbered and the line laid for a total distance of 150 ft. from the flat sheet at the point WO lir’od tli-nngb. into thn level with timbers ,standing, but the level is still full of murk, but better progress should be made from here.
