His Worship said that.it gave him great pleasure in being asked to offiliate at the opening of the sale of woi'flv, and isinrerely hoped (that it would l>e a financial success. He remarked that it was just another instance of the spirit shown by the Tararu resident and he felt that he was only voicing the sentiments of the committee in congratulating the ladies who had worked so well to make t

bazaar a success. With these remarks His Worship declared the bazaar open. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the ladies’ committee and was greatly appreciated. The stalls were beseiged by all and business was very brisk for 4 sbme time. In the evening a very enjoyable dance was held and full advantage was taken by the younger members of the community in this direction. A very delightful programme of music was supplied by Buchan’s Melody Boys. During the evening Mr. P. L. Jenkin, on behalf of the School Committee, thanked tho public for the a way in which they had responded to the call made upon them, and declared the following as winners of the various competitions : Mr. C. I .aiming (tray). Joan-Court (scrap hook). Mr. Bedford (doll's bed). Mrs. Laird (doll). Mrs. P. Montague (night-dress).. The function is stated to he a pronounced financial success.
