A FARMERS' JAUNT.
AN UNWEILDY PARTY. WEATHER FROWNS ON TRIP. (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, March 27. Seven hundred and sixty farmer excursionists from Canterbury arrived at 1.30 this morning, delays occurring owing to the unexpectedly large number travelling. Difficulty also arose regarding accommodation, S 5 having to be billeted at Gore and 40 aboard the small steamer Kotare, lying at the wharf. Unfortunately, the weather was boisterous, but conditions improved when the visitors left this morning by a large fleet of motor-cars for the western districts. The rain was welcomed by the. local farmers after a prolonged spell of dry weather.
