THEFT OF GOODS.
DESERTER PLEADS GUILTY
(By Telegraph.—Pres** Association ) HAMILTON, March 12. Charles Henry Whitehead was charged at the Police Court yesterday with breaking and entering the premises of Mr. V. Edgar on January 27th, and with stealing therefrom fancy goods to the total value of £SO, Accused, who was described by the police as a deserter from the Port Curtis, admitted the charge, and was committed to the Auckland Supreme Court for sentence. Cornelius Patrick Rees, charged with receiving the goods stolen by Whitehead, pleaded guilty, and, electing to be dealt with summarily, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.
