CATHOLIC BAZAAR.
SUCCESSFUL ENDING. . WINNERS OF ART UNION. The Catholic bazaar had a very successful concluding evening last night. There was a crowded house, the huge attendance being a most remarkable feature. It is understood the whole bazaar, has heen very successful, and the finances will benefit considerably. Particular thanks are due to all those sturdy workers who unstintingly gave their services, and also to those who helped with dancing and other programmes.
The Art Union was drawn last evening,in the presence of the DeputyMayor (Mr. W. Bobgard), the Police, and the Press. The results are: — Ist Prize—No. 4665, Mr. M. Johansson. Tatarariki, Northern Wairoa. 2nd Prize —-No. .2134, Miss N. Coakley, Thames. 3rd Prize—No. 4757, Miss Dympna Green, P. 0., Kerry town. 4th Prize—No. 4731, Sister Borgia, St. Joseph’s Convent, Thames. sth Prize—No. 1781, Mr, A. L. Fisher, Kerepeelii. 6th Prize—No. 3544, Mr. E. Elliot, Omahu. “S” Cushion, No. 821, T. J. Cronin, Hamilton. Valvoise Fire-Screen —No. 1441, Mrs. M. Maxwell, Matatoki. C.C. Pen-Painted Table Centre—No. 1049, Mrs. Ellis, Rolleston Street, Thames. The other results will be advertised in Tuesday’s Star.
