MINING.
. NEW WAIOTAHI. The supervisor of the New Waiotahi Gold Miniing Co., reports, under date October 19th., as follows; The drive on the reef at the intermediate has reached the estimated point of its junction with the reef followed in the drive below. The reef is making stronger, and a few pieces of picked stone were again selected during the week. The country is favourable for gold, and the junction should be to hand at any time now. The crosscut for the Waiotahi-Cam-bria reef has been driven 5 feet for the week, leaving 32 feet to reach the estimated course of the reef. The country continues solid and somewhat tight for shooting, and ’is evidently' ; "the true footwall country which will be follow- ' ed in the expectation of picking up the displaced portion of the reef.
