POPULATION.
A SLIGHT INCREASE. WELLINGTON, September 8. The Government Statistician’s return shows that the population of New Zealand slightly! increased during the June quarter when it stood at 1,326,664 compared with 1,325 301 at the end of March and 1,318, 884 at the end of last year. These figures, excluded the Cook Islands 13,375 and Western Samoa 38,100. The Samoa population shows,, a decline during the June quarter. P 1 "" 1 " 1 —■ " n - 1 im T.-
