The harbour works were considerably damaged. The Portuguese armed armed steam launch Almiramt Hehugo foundered and one out of a crew of firteen Avere saved. A number of Chinese launches and junks were sunk or are missing. Some passengers have been picked up but it is feared a considerable number are missing. a TIDAL WAVES. (A. and N.Z. Cable). SHANGHAI, Aug. 20. Reports state that the tidal waves which sAvept the north-Avest Korean resulted in 346 deaths and, over ,1000 are missing. Widespread damage was done to property.
