Mr A. Burns, of Auckland, is spending a few days in Thames. The many friends of Mrs H. Brownlee will regret to hear of her removal to the Thames Hospital with rhbumatic fever. A cable message from London states that Miss Rosina Bnckman, the New Zealand singer, dislocated her knee and ruptured the tendons while playing tennis. Mr C. C. Spedding, who for a number of years has been manager of the National Bank of New Zealand at Te Aroha, has been transferred to the Onehunga branch. He takes the place of Mr Donald MacCormick, who is resigning after 35 years’ service. Mr J. P. Maxwell, of Wellington, one of the members of the Board of Inquiry which is investigating the circumstances of the railway disaster at Ongarue on July 6, was admitted to a private hospital in Auckland on Sunday night, suffering from pleurisy.
