PERSONAL.
Mr S. A. Hetherington returned to Thames from Rotorua yesterday. Mr W. Baker is at present confined to his room with an attack of influenza. Messrs J. C. Miller and C. W. Parfitt, of the Hauraki Plains County Council, were in town to-day. Mr Bayldon, stationmaster at Thames South, who has been on furlough for a month, resumed his duties this morning. Nurse Edwards, who was some time ago laid up with typhoid, and who has not yet sufficiently recovered to resume duty at the Thames Hospital, was yesterday granted six months’ leave of absence. A Hamilton telegram states that Detective Lambert, the victim of last week’s shooting affair, is reported to be progressing very favourably. There is every prospect of his recovery, although the bullet is still in his body.
