Many peoplo who had evidently preferred to.spend Christmas Day at home, shifting down l for. the holidays. The motor vehicles plying for hire wero liberally patronised, and it was evident fliat the Coast is destined to become increasingly popular wit'll tho residents of the Thames Valley. 1 This year the demand for camping sites is very great, and applicants from all parts of itlhe Waikato and ' tho King. Country have made inquiries. Thero is quite a Colony of Hamilton residents near Puru/ and many visitors come from places much further afield. Probably never in its history Las tho Coast seen, so many new buildings erected. There are eight new. cottages in Thornton’s Bay alone, and at Puru little places are springing up. At Thornton’s Bay there is a new public hall.
