THE RATING BASIS. When the report of tie Thames Harbour Commission was brought before the Piako County Council on Monday, says the Te Aroha flews, :tho chairman remarked the commissioners had accepted the views of the council's witnesses m recommending the exclusion from rating of the further portion of the County, but they had not seen, fit to place the lands served by Che. Mor-rinsville-Rotorua railway on the same rating basis as the Matamata county.-" Cr. Clark agreed, and suggested that the M.P. for the district be asked to state Piako County Council's claim to the Minister as "soon as possible. rv - Other members agreedj, and it was decided accordingly. ■'
