• (Under thir bead we publish brief ' oommunioa +«d reports of advertised iec▼ioes:) ST. G-EORGE'S CHURCH. ' Special thashfcsgiving sex-vices were conducted at St. George's Church. yesterday by tiie Vicar^ tibe Rev. A. J. Beck. At all services special h.ymn s and psalms were sung, and special pauyers offered. Mir.. Beclp stressed the point that day was one for expressing thankfulness, and not the mere boasting of -the victory of tine Allied armies. The need foxprayer was still more pressing, and Ihe earnestly asked all to pray for victory. As sihowing the weight of prayer with God, the preacher centred his discourse round the Book of Ebcodus, where Moses was praying on the Mount for victory for Israel. And wihen Moses held his hands to God, Israel prevailed, and when his ■ arms-grew tired and they fell down, Amalefc prevailed. While Moses' arms were stretched upwards to God in prayer, victory was. assured. So he wanfed all to offer, prayer to God and keep on praying for victory.
