FATHER AND THREE SONS AT THE FRONT. "This is absolutely the first appeal of the kind that has come before t the board," said Mr. H. W. Bishop, S, M., casting an.eye down the tile attached to the military appeal of Peter O'Loughlin, railway employee, who appeared in company with his mother before the Canterbury Military Service Board. "The father and three brothers are .serving," the chairman continued, with undisguised pleasure. "It is extraordinary, wonderful , a fine record. How old is your husband? I will not. ask how old you are?" The mother replied that' her husband was 55. "And serving," said the Magistrate. "What mi?" "The infantry." "In the New Zealand Infantry 1"— "Yes." "How on earth did h© get. there?" commented the chairman. "It is a wonderfuli record; I congratulate you on it. You ought to be proud of it. You have three sons serving, and you want this one with you? All j right. You are entitled to have I him. Adjourned sine die." j "Thank you, sir," said) the mother.
