EXPLOSION IN MINE.
HUNDKiEiD MEN ENTOMBED. SHAFT BESIEGED BX WOMEN. RESdUE PARTIES DRIVEN OUT. (Per United Preis Association.) ' JNIBWI YOIRK, Dec. 10. An explosion in the main mine of the dross Mountain System at Knoxville entombed probably one hundred miners. Throngs of women and children are besieging the shaft mouth. Three of the entombed escaped b\ means of a- lateral ahaft. IRiescue. parties were driven out by the flames without seeing any aim* of the victims. 'Little is expected to be done till the lire is suibdued.
