The candidates for the Thames electorate at the last general tls*tions were the Hon. James MeGow&n (G), Messrs E. Dteeble (0), O. Mason (L), and F. W. Isitt (P). The voting was as follows: MclGowan 3005, F Deeble 905, Mason-. 297, Isitt 124. At the 'bye-election in Janu&Vy, 1909, rendered necessary by the cV | vation of Mt McGbwan to the Upper House, there were five candidates, namely, B. H. Tay^r (G), Wm. U. Lucas (G), B. Deeble (0), T. W. Rhodes (G), and F: H- Haselden (0). Tlie first ballot resulted: Taylor ' 1305', Lucas 853, Deeble 575, Rhodes r 565, Haselden 493. The result of the second ballot wa« Taylor 2H96, Luoas 1668.
