CHIMSTCtrTORCH, April 13., The 'Premier replied last oigiht to the criticisms by Messrs Masaay, Allan, and Fraser on the fina.nc&s of the dtominiom,, and answered what he called the budditnig treasurers. ■ Hie, sciouinedl the idea, that widows were to be taxed lor the Dreadnought. The succession .duties were not hi^jh enough but he had not supwrosted taxing widows despite all the criticisms. The facts were that the country hadi a surplus of- £.184,000 and £.792,000 h?d beam paid off th© debts and put inio the sinking funds.
