The Hutt iNo-License' Lea,gue; passed a resolution that tha decision m the recent petition was not consistent with the previous decisions, especially ait 'Newtown. and 1 Masterton^ and were not fair deductions Jrom 'the evidtence submitted!, and that the witnesses .who were summoned should have been called in view oi the closeness of the vote and the fact that the Bench held that some irregularities had been proved. The decision that full costs should be paid by tihe No-Liceaise party was unjust. •
The Licensed Victuallers have taken strong ■exception to the attack mad 3 from the pulpit upon- the magistrates who heard the case, condemning the attack and calling' for mmc adSnn to deal with the author a,nd prevent the furthei' circulation of suoh sla«ders.
