Details of the typhoon at Guam, and the loss of the American cruiser Yoseniite, shov that the storm was the woißt ever experienced there Houses were wrecked and crops were ruined, and it is .eared that uniesn they are relieved, the people will die of starvation During the early part of the storm five of the "XosemiteV crew were attempting to find a shelter when their boat „ was capsized and all were drowned. . 'I he cruiser dragged her anchor, bumped on a reef, knocked a hole in the fore compartment, cariied away the rudder post, and damaged the propellor. She was then driven 100 miles to sea, and was kept afloat .or two days by the greatest exertions. A passing vessel took off the crew, who scuttled the vessel before leaving, and she sank.
