Hurricane at New Britain.
PLANTATIONS AND BUILDINGS WRECKED. i LOSS OF LIVES AND SHIPPING. SYDNEY, December 29. Early m ths month, New Britain was visited by a hurricane lasting three days. Immense damage was done to cocoa nut and other plantations and buildings, and the Government and other wharves were demolished. The mission launch Kingfisher and three lighters were wrecked, and many boats were driven ashore and smashed. Two lives were last and two persons were severely injured.
