Auckland, July 6. John D. Duthie, M.H.R., for Wellington City, returned from a four months' trip to England by the Moana to-day. BILLIARD MATCH.

Dawson and Mannook, the English billiard players, gave an interesting exhibition last night.. The game was 800 up, Mannook being conceded 250. Notwithstanding this heavy handicap, Dawson won by 224 points, the scores being 800 to 506.

MRCHAS. F. SPOOKICR. Some surprise was expressed when it became known that Mr Chas. F. Spooner, printer, had been arrested yesterday afternoon at Avondale on a warrant of commitment for disobeying the order of the Court. Some time ago Mr Spooner was prosecuted under the Printers and Newspapers Act for having printed 24 copies of a leaflet with, out having affixed thereto an imprint, when he was fined £5 for each copy, the total fines amounting to £120. He has been committed to Mount Eden Gaol for two months, and it is understood the sentence carries with it hard labor.
