The Recent Fire.
An enquiry into the circumstances attending the fire last Sunday morning, by which |*lj Chee's shop was almost destroyed, was held Yesterday before Mr A. Bruce, coroner, and ajurj of six.MrNoddet- being foreman. Mr W. D. Reid represented the North German Insurance Company, and Constable Stapleton attended the proceedings on behalf of the police. Evidence was given by W. Ah Ckee, Yang Chee, Jas. Sawyer, W. Clarke and Constable Flavell, but nothing beyond the information already known was elicited, and a verdict was returned as follows:—" That the fire originated in the front shop, but there was nothing to show the cause of the outbreak."
