The, Hospital Trustees waited on the Colonial Treasurer and the Hon. W.C.i Walker to-day to *sk fora .subsidy towards the erection of a proper operating room at the hospital. Dr. Ewart .said operations had amounted from 21 in 1886 to 600 last year, and sometimes there were 12 and 14 iv a day The present room was too small, unsuitable, and difficult to keep, .disinfected. . The hospital, however, was no more a colonial institution* than others. It belonged to the community here and not to the Government. The Hon W. C.
