NAPIER PARK RACES.

There is beautiful weather for the opening day of the Napier Park Autumn Meeting, and a large attendance. The course is in splendid condition. Results:—
Tmal Hurdles -Rainbow (Banks), 1 ; Rhino, 2; Gorse, 3. Velocity was ncratched. Toriki fell, and Flirt pulled up. Won by a length and a half. Time, 3min 25 3-ssec; dividend, £10 9s.
Pahk Cup.—The Shrew, 1 ; Daystar, 2 ; Straihbrain 3. Lotion was Bcratched. Daystar held a handy position right through the race, and entering the straight first, seemed to have everything beaten, but Derritt brought The Shrew with a marvellous run, and snatched a victory on the post by a long head, Strathbrain just beating Haria for third place. Golden Plover was left badly at the post. Time, 2min 36 4-ssecs. Dividend, £6 2s.
