The New Hebrides.

MURDER, PILLAGE AND

CANNIBALISM,

(Per Press Association.)

Sydney, March 17

News from the Islands states that the natives of Mallicollo murdered and ate the native servant of a trader named Gana. They enticed Gana into the bush and he escaped a similar fate only with great difficulty. During his absence the natives looted the station and tied the servants to trees.

Outrages are becoming so frequent in the New Hebrides that the settlers are petitioning to have a cruiser constantly stationed there.
