MANAGERS' REPORTS.

NEW WHAU. The manager reports;—" Ihe contractors have made a fair start with their contract in the winze, and are making very good headway. The reef is much the same as last reported, and the drive has been extended, but as I said before we do not get ahead very fast with two men. The reef still continues wall defined and in good country and the direction which this drive is going ought to meet with the junction of other reefs such as the Hatters, which has always given in the past good runs of gold at the junctions. I do not see anything likely to hiuder it beiug bo in the future, in fact it is .my opiuion it is only a matter of opening up the ground to make this mine as good a gold producer as ever it has been in the past. —Thos. Radford," j McISAAOS. i I The Manager reports as follows: — J "The low level tunnel is passing through a nice solid sandstone country. I AYe are now in a distance of 143 feet, \ 80 feet more driving will take us to the \ estimated position of Mclsaac's reef.; Youxg Australia Tujtn'el : We have. completed the cleaning oat and re- j pairing of this drive, which is three hundred feet long, and has been stoped for 20 feet overhead. The country is all that could be wished for, the lode bears a very promising appearance, being highly impregnated with minerals favourable for gold. In the face the reef is split up into two ribs,' but has every appearance of coming together again, and should soon form

iatb a solid body of stone. Driving will be at once commenced on the course of the reef, which traverses the company's property from end to end* This drive will be ontering a section of country totally unexplored.'
