DTO-MORROW'S GATHERING.
That most important of conditions— the weather—promises at time of writing to be most favorable to the sports gathering to-morrow. As regards the attendance, Jupiter Pluvius has, of course, the whole thing in his own hands, but it may be relied on that some good running will be witnessed, I for the track, although a trifle hard, is in fine condition and favorable to fast times. Not a few competitors will " file down" the spikes of their shoes if to-morrow breaks with fine warm weather, for the long spikes which are a runner's salvation on a wet course have proved a considerable hindrance on the hard turf during the last day or two. On the whole, whatever the atmospheric conditions may be, kee»ly contested races are a certainty if all the present competitors come to the staiting post. Our sporting tipster " Early Bird," resuscitated for this occasion, offers the following " fancies " :—
