New Zealand Defences.
ADMIRAL BRIDGE'S OPINION.
(Per Press Association.)
I Sydney, March 15. Admiral Bridge, in an interview in regard to the defences of New Zealand, said their condition is much the same as the other colonies from the striking insufficiency of men. The defences were iii admirable order, and were beautifully kept, reflecting the highest credit upon those in charge, but one was perpetually haunted by the question :—" What is the good of all this, if there are not enough proper men to man them ?"
